The modern gentleman is able to afford not to carry the French cuff links, a coat of moderate length, a cane, but to know foreign languages, to be familiar with art, classical music, playing golf - is obliged. Manners, graceful gestures, beautiful gait have to go from within, supplementing an image of the true gentleman. The real gentleman is a person who, having even stumbled, will not pronounce a bad word.
