Utrozhestan is popular medicine in gynecology and obstetrics, it is applied to treatment of infertility, abortions, pathological symptoms of a menopause. Active active ingredient of an utrozhestan is progesterone - hormone of a yellow body which in the early stages of pregnancy regulates process of attachment of the impregnated ovum to a uterus wall. 1. Utrozhestan is cancelled in the second trimester of pregnancy, and in case of need replaced with other medicines promoting further incubation of a fruit. This medicine at pregnancy is applied intravaginalno, the dose makes from 400 to 800 mg a day and breaks into 2 receptions. However, duration of use of medicine and its dosage are defined by the treating gynecologist individually for each patient. Cancellation of an utrozhestan happens gradually not to provoke an abortion (so-called ""medicine cancellation syndrome"").
2. It is desirable to reduce a dose very slowly, within 4-6 weeks. If to assume that the medical dose of an utrozhestan makes 400 mg, then after the doctor recommends to cancel medicine, within two weeks the drug is taken in a dose of 300 mg (200 mg in the morning and 100 mg in the evening). During this period the thorough medical observation of a condition of the pregnant woman is necessary. First of all, if at decrease in a dosage bloody allocations from a vagina appeared, nagging pains in the bottom of a stomach - it is necessary to address urgently the treating gynecologist and, perhaps, to return to a former dose of an utrozhestan.
3. Further, in the absence of any complaints and by-effects, cancellation of an utrozhestan happens by decrease in a dosage by 100 mg in two weeks, that is the next two weeks the woman accepts 200 mg of an utrozhestan a day (still in two steps - 100 mg in the morning and 100 mg in the evening), and one-two more weeks on 100 mg for the night. Then medicine is cancelled completely, or replaced with alternative means.
