Despite variety of ready baby food in shops, many modern mothers prefer to cook porridges independently. Buckwheat cereal of own preparation turns out especially tasty, nutritious and useful.

  • blender or coffee grinder, buckwheat, blender, water, milk, salt, sugar.

1. Buckwheat cereal remarkably approaches as the first feeding up of the kid because buckwheat does not contain gluten and is low allergy grain. Buckwheat contains iron, calcium, phosphorus, iodine, group B vitamins. What is important for small children on artificial feeding, buckwheat does not promote locks.

2. Make grain for porridge. Do not take too dark grain, it can taste bitter. Use premium grain. Touch it from garbage and the crude grains. Well wash out buckwheat and dry up. By means of the coffee grinder or the blender you pitch dry grain. The processed grain on a state has to be between semolina and flour. It is possible to use ready buckwheat flour.

3. Take 1 teaspoon of buckwheat flour or the processed grain on 100 ml water for preparation of 5% of buckwheat cereal for the first feeding up. Porridge has to turn out rather liquid. When the kid gets used to semi-dense consistence and will learn to eat from a spoon, increase concentration of porridge to 10% - 2 teaspoons of grain by 100 ml of water.

4. Fill in grain with water and you cook on slow fire about 15-20 minutes, constantly stirring slowly. It is possible to add breast milk to ready buckwheat cereal. If the kid on artificial feeding, it is possible to add dairy mix which is usually eaten by the child to porridge. Do not use salt for preparation of porridges to chest babies.

5. If the child is more senior than 6-7 months and is not inclined to an allergy, cook porridge on the low-fat milk divorced 1:1 as it was done by our mothers and grandmothers. Best of all for porridge for the baby to use special children's milk in cardboard packings.

6. To more senior kids add children's cream, fructose or sugar to ready porridge. Make sure that sugar does not cause allergies in the child. Most of children prefer sweet porridges with dairy taste.

7. If the child has an allergy, use only the resolved products. It is possible to add some fruit purees which are well transferred by the kid, for example, banana or pear to ready unsweetened porridge. It will improve tastes of porridge.
