And only at the third visit if the child likes the atmosphere, and he will want to return, it is possible to get acquainted with pupils and teachers, to observe reaction of the kid and his opponents. Only on condition of full mutual understanding and lack of constraint and uncertainty of the child with a Down syndrome at communication with new people in the unfamiliar place, it is possible to tell safely that the choice of educational institution is complete and the place is defined.
Adaptation of the child with a Down syndrome at school
For successful adaptation of the child in educational institution the parents have to tell in detail about all its deviations to the teacher and service staff. Some such children can have problems with hearing, at others with sight – it is necessary to tell about everything in advance as it can become the misunderstanding reason, both from the child, and from people around. It is also necessary to stipulate all features of the training program in advance. Children with a Down syndrome lag behind the peers in development a little therefore they need the simplified program, or individual approach to their training.
