How to keep a diary of weather to the school student

Children Hits: 78

Most of children within school lessons on natural study or the world around should keep a diary of observation of weather. It can be done in two ways: using a notebook and the handle, or having used the special computer program.

It is required to you

Instruction

1. Define where these observations of weather will register – in a notebook or to remain in electronic form by means of the special program. If you chose the first option, then line a notebook on several columns, having signed them "Date", "Temperature", "Humidity", "Wind", "Overcast", "Atmospheric pressure".

2. Fill out each column daily, measuring indicators in one and too time (for example, at twelve o'clock in the afternoon). The value of air temperature is determined by the thermometer located outside the window. Consider that it has to be by all means in a shadow, otherwise indications will be incorrect. Atmospheric pressure should be determined on a barometer.

3. Wind force – on Beaufort's scale (in points), and his direction on the smoke which is coming out pipes or on movement of clouds of the lower tier. It is possible to place a weather vane in the schoolyard and also they give the chance to define the direction of wind to use a compass –. Note the nature of wind: gusty or equal.

4. In the column "Overcast" write down information on appearance of observed overcast, existence or lack of gleams. At total absence of clouds put a crossed out section. If it is a little clouds, put "Is cloudy" (half the shaded circle) if all sky is tightened by clouds – "Cloudy" (completely shaded circle).

5. You enter data on precipitation in the column with the name "Precipitation" of the same name. In it information on character and a phase of precipitation (Heavy snow, a small rain) has to be fixed. If precipitation was not, put a crossed out section. Note information on various natural phenomena which interested you (for example: a thunderstorm, a rainbow, a haze, fog, a hail) in the column "Special Phenomena".

6. Determine the average daily temperature of every day (the sum of observed temperatures is divided into the number of terms). For example, you looked at the thermometer in the morning, during the lunchtime and in the evening. Write down indications, put them and divide into three. The turned-out result is average daily temperature.

7. Use data of a meteorological station if you cannot determine any parameter (for example, the atmospheric pressure or force and the direction of wind), look at a weather forecast. Similar information can be obtained easily, having used the Internet. However, you should not abuse this method, it is necessary for you will learn to conduct independent observations of weather.

8. If you decided to watch weather by means of a special computer resource, then it will exempt you from technical loading, will allow to concentrate on the content of activity. The school student is engaged in collection of information, and its fixing is undertaken by the computer program. It keeps date of observation, the brought data, acquaints with phases of the moon, longitude of day and national signs. Besides, similar programs automatically create the monthly report including the minimum statistics and the general changes of weather within last month.
