For development of memory of the child it is necessary to learn with it many verses at preschool age. At first verses can be absolutely small, but to years to 4-5 when the brain of the child begins to develop actively and memory size increases, it is possible to learn by heart and big works. But it is necessary to do it gradually and creatively not to beat off thirst of the child for knowledge.

1. You should not force the child to learn the poem if he does not want it, to sense from it will not be. Even if you will force the kid to repeat lines, he will forever remember as the poetry and study in general was unpleasant to it. At school age it can bear bad fruits.
2. Surely read the poem before learning or playing it. Read slowly, with expression, helping the kid to feel mood and as it is possible to understand better what occurs in the poem. During reading it is possible to help itself gestures, representing all history for the child.
3. After reading ask the kid about what there was a poem which of heroes was pleasant to it why they so behaved that happened to them then. Make sure that the child understood the meaning of the poem, it is possible even to read it it once again. If there are unclear words, explain them to the child, otherwise he will not remember them.
4. If the kid is already able to read, ask it to read the poem to you. And then begin to create. Together with the child play this story: aloud read on a line and gestures or in the form of a sketch represent that occurs. Let the child repeat after you - motive memory will help to remember the poem more precisely. It is possible to involve dad or the grandmother in this game. The more people, the more cheerfully.
5. It is possible to mold heroes of the poem from plasticine or to give to the child of paint that he drew history as sees. Then mom reads two lines, and the kid does small drawings. Also mom can draw, but it is obligatory that children watched the course of the developed history. At further learning the child surely has to be guided by drawings at first. Any visualization plus a game element will help to interest the child and to make process of learning of the poem for it pleasant and cheerful.
6. You divide the poem into parts: quatrains and couplets. It is possible to divide it and on semantic phrases, the main thing that it was not necessary to repeat at once much. To learn small pieces much more effectively. Read to the child the first two lines of the poem, let he will repeat them already itself, without your help, being guided by pictures or representing actions. Then read two more lines, the child will repeat them, and then a quatrain entirely. So gradually move ahead, do not learn all poem yet.
7. If the work very long, segment it and you teach everyone separately, do not force the kid to get tired and study verses the whole day. Every day take on a small fragment of the whole work, you learn several quatrains, next day repeat learned and if the child is not confused and remembers everything perfectly, continue learning of the following fragment.
8. Also you remember that it is necessary to change constantly an activity form, the attention of the preschool child cannot long concentrate on one business, he is tired. You learn with it the poem no more than 15-20 minutes for time. It is better to return several times a day to this occupation, than to demand from the child to teach him at once. Be not irritated and do not break on the kid even if something is impossible to him. Be quiet then the child will not begin to be nervous, pronounce verses accurately, slowly and with expression.
9. When the poem or its part it is learned, praise your preschool child and postpone work. It is necessary to repeat with him verses in half an hour, before going to bed or in the morning – to you to decide when the child is ready. Only do not ask it, as at examination. Ask to tell the poem to the grandmother, dad, a favourite toy better to put her to bed. Or begin to tell, and then "forget" a line and ask the kid to help you. Such veiled form of check will help the child not to be afraid to get off or to confuse something. Come back to the poem until the child tells it completely and very surely.
