Stool for feeding - a necessary piece of furniture for the kid. There is a mass of various models, and they are united by existence of a cover. As the child cannot always be accurate, and the appearance of a stool wants to be kept tidy, the cover on it is simply necessary.
As a rule, on each stool initially there is a cover, but when it was not provided by the producer or became useless, for example, tore, it is possible to sew a cover independently.
Material selection
Selection of material for tailoring of a cover plays an important role. First, it has to be not easily soiled, it is desirable not absorbing water that it was simpler to be washed; secondly, hypoallergenic as the child will daily contact to this material. It is the best of all to use oil-cloth materials.
It is also important to remember stuffing for a cover if the stool is too rigid, to the child it will not be comfortable, and process of meal will become for it unpleasant. Sintepon best of all will be suitable for stuffing.
New cover on a sample of old
This way is suitable for those cases when the cover which is already available on a stool was spoiled, for example, the child made in it a hole. In this case everything is quite simple. It is enough to remove the spoiled cover from a chair, to unstitch on it all seams. Then to spread out it to the big sheet of paper and to circle with a pencil. On this sample it is necessary to make a pattern of new material. It is the best of all to do a pattern, leaving a stock on 1-2 cm on seams. Further to sew a cover by an example of old and to fill with stuffing. It is possible to consider some minuses of the previous cover if they are available and to finish them. For example, the cover was rather big and slid on a chair, in that case it is worth lowering 1-2 cm at the edges of a pattern.
If the cover was not
On sale stools on which initially there is no cover meet. As a rule, it is wooden chairs. To keep appearance of a tree as long as possible, it is necessary to sew a cover. For this purpose material directly for a cover, stuffing (it is better to take it in a large number to provide sufficient softness) and a big piece of any fine fabric is required. Fabric is necessary to enclose it in a stool, to give it the form and it will become so clear to circle how the pattern for a cover has to look. From this template the pattern is transferred to material for a cover. At the same time, it is impossible to forget about blousings on seams - they have to make 3-4 cm, taking into account further filling with stuffing. That the cover fastened to a back, it is possible to sew tapes and further to tie them, or to supply a cover with revetings. It is also possible to sew a separate pocket, then it is necessary to provide pattern option when the cover is put on over a back.
