The choice of children's bed linen can sometimes put parents in a difficult situation: that coloring which is pleasant - does not approach by the size, and that that approaches - is not pleasant. And it is possible just to buy necessary amount of fabric and to sew a set of children's bed linen independently.
It is required to you
- fabric cut (the selling assistant will prompt the necessary amount of fabric depending on the size of a blanket, a pillow and a mattress), scissors, threads, the sewing machine.
Instruction
1. Measure length (the long party, let it will be equal in all cases of X) and width (the short party, let its length will be Y): pillows, a blanket and a mattress on which you are going to sew bed linen.
2. Make preparation for a pillowcase on a pillow. For this purpose it is necessary to find a rectangle with the parties: one = to length of the X pillowcase, the second = Y+Y+20sm. Additional 20 cm are necessary in order that in the sewed option this part of fabric put in a pillowcase formed similarity of the valve which a part of a pillow would enter from within. Then the pillow will not stick out not esthetically of a pillowcase, and will be filled in this similarity of the valve envelope. Do not forget to leave at the edges allowances for seams taking into account that the pillow should not be densely fitted by a pillowcase, that is 2-3 more additional centimeters are necessary on each side.
3. Put preparation of a pillowcase by the pillow sizes, and sprain the rest in 20 cm inside (it and will be that valve envelope). Stitch from two parties on the sewing machine from inner side. The pillowcase is ready.
4. Prepare preparation for a blanket cover. For this purpose you will find from fabric a rectangle twice bigger, than the blanket size. Do not forget to leave allowances for seams in 2-3 cm on each side.
5. On the sewing machine you pristrochit rectangles to each other from all four parties (it is possible to find preparation so that one party of a blanket cover was the line of a bend and did not need connection), having left not sewn up in the middle an opening about 40 cm long from the party of length (X) of one of them - it is necessary in order that through it in a blanket cover to put a blanket. The blanket cover is ready.
6. Prepare a pattern for a sheet: in the sizes of a matrasik add 20 cm from each party, that is it has to be 40 cm longer and 40 cm wider than a mattress on which the child will sleep. It is necessary to turn in a bed-sheet under a mattress, it should not slide during sleep on its surface and give an inconvenience to the kid.
7. Turn in edges of future bed-sheet two times on 5-7 mm and stitch this podgib them on the sewing machine. The bed-sheet for a children's bed is ready.
