Full medical examination of the child before school is the compulsory procedure regulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation. Results about the state of health are entered in the reference on the basis of which school regime of the pupil is formed.
Training of children for school consists not only in efforts on acquisition of a beautiful form, convenient satchel and notebooks with writing-materials. Not less important stage is obligatory passing by children of medical examination for timely identification of possible problems with health.
Visit of the pediatrician
Medical examination before school is compulsory procedure, but it is possible to pass it as it is free, in district clinic, and in any commercial medical center. The first expert whom the child is obliged to visit is the local pediatrician. The doctor will record physical indicators: growth, weight, pressure; will check presence of all inoculations, necessary for this age; will give the directions on analyses and visit of narrow experts; will write the conclusion by results of medical examination.
The list of necessary researches and analyses became slightly wider accepted 3-4 years ago: the child is obliged to make the general blood test and the analysis on check of level of glucose, the general analysis of urine, the analysis a calla on eggs of worms and scrape on enterobioz, to undergo electrocardiography, ultrasound examination of an abdominal cavity, thyroid gland, bodies of a small pelvis and heart.
Visit of narrow experts
Besides laboratory and diagnostic tests the child before school has to receive the decisions about the state of health at narrow-purpose experts. The surgeon examines the child on presence of tumors, inguinal and umbilical hernias. At boys the doctor checks development of genitals and reveals possible deviations: kriptorkhizm, fimoz and so forth. Visit of the gynecologist for quite some time now is obligatory for girls. Medical examination at this expert has more preventive character and is carried out without use of viewing tools, by visual identification of possible deviations in development of genitals. The ophthalmologist defines visual acuity of the child and fixes possible pathologies, makes recommendations about optimum distance from a school desk to a blackboard taking into account visual features of the school student. The orthopedist will reveal violations of a bearing of the child and possible problems with his musculoskeletal device: flat-footedness, backbone curvature, etc. The neurologist investigates features of nervous system of the school student, will check reflexes, coordination, a tone of muscles and psychomotor skills on its reaction to external irritants. The otolaryngologist reveals tendency of the child to diseases of an ear, throat, nose, checks his hearing. The stomatologist will check correctness of formation of a bite and hypoglossal sheaf, the general dental health, will detect the beginning caries. Following the results of inspection at narrow experts the pediatrician can appoint additional inspections at the psychologist, the cardiologist, the logopedist, the endocrinologist.
