In 1866 the French doctor and the teacher E. Segen invented a technique of a research of level of intellectual development of children which received the name "Segen's Board". Segen was engaged in oligophrenopedagogics, and once before him there was a problem of an invention of this technique.
Technique essence
The technique of boards of Segen represents the pictures which are cut out and located on a special board. Children are offered to sort and collect these pictures. At the same time the level of complexity of performance of a task can be a miscellaneous. The complexity can depend on selection of color, a form and sorting of pictures according to subject classification (animals, fruit and another). At first the teacher shows to the child as figures from a board are taken out and in what order of the picture are inserted back.
