Often in a talk of youth and people is more senior, it is possible to notice such explanation of lack of knowledge in technical science as ""humanitarian mentality"". However the tendency to the humanities does not define this type of thinking yet. Conditional division of all people into ""physicists"" and ""lyric poets"" is not absolutely correct and scientific.
Abilities and mentality
Psychologists established interrelation between development of hemispheres of a brain and abilities. So, the right hemisphere of a brain is responsible for evident and figurative thinking, creative imagination, perception of music, artistic images, etc. The left hemisphere is responsible for mathematical abilities and logical thinking.
People at whom the right hemisphere of a brain is more developed are more inclined to the humanities, reasonings, philosophizing. The tendency to mathematical sciences, technical disciplines and logical reasonings is inherent in those at whom bigger development was gained by the left hemisphere of a brain.
But tendencies to the humanities do not define humanitarian mentality at the person yet. More likely, it is just a consequence of those features which are inherent in people humanists.
Features of people with humanitarian mentality
Humanists on mentality (not by training) know that each specific person or group of people has only a limited idea of the world. They realize that in the world there is something another: other perception, other opinion, other reality, other meaning, other picture of the world, etc. After the school training in each question providing one correct decision or the proof it is easy for such people to study various scientific theories or paradigms which explain differently same event or process at the university. But you should not confuse it with love for philosophizing and philosophy: the fact that they understand it does not do by their fans of this discipline. They can have not arts education, but technical, but at the same time clearly realize as their understanding of the world is narrow. To the contrary, fans of books, music, movies and professional humanists sometimes do not assume a thought that at people around other interests, than at them can be perfect. One more distinctive quality of people with humanitarian mentality the ability to interact with others is considered. It is obviously visible in interaction meanwhile who accepts others position and others vision, and that who, except own point of view, rejects everything. If the person manages to comprehend the world of the interlocutor and to come into contact, even without sharing his views, so it the typical humanist. The humanist on mentality knows that in the world conventions govern. When such person finds the answer to a question, he understands that it is considered correct time only at present. In other words, he realizes that truth per se does not exist, and there are only judgments which are honored for the truth at present. The humanitarian mentality is often confused with evident and figurative thinking. Such type of thinking assumes the developed ability something to imagine, to present, compare, and respectively, to understand and accept changes in public life, some new genres of literature, cinema, music. But it does not mean at all that all people with the developed evident and figurative thinking are humanists on mentality.
