Practical ordinary consciousness represents the most primitive level of consciousness. It includes set of representations, stereotypes and installations which are based on daily experience of people and dominate in social community which they treat. The mistakes promoting preservation of prejudices are peculiar to such consciousness and to interfere scientific knowledge of the world. However fixing, characteristic of public consciousness, of often repeating communications between people and things (popular wisdom) allows to draw the correct conclusions that it is proved by practice of everyday life.
At the level of ordinary consciousness the people are in one way or another capable to realize the accepted meanings of social being, without application of methods and means of specially organized cognitive activity. Ordinary consciousness describes the vital phenomena at the level of simple observations and everyday representations which are presented to representatives of society as necessary "rules of the game" and also are to a degree acquired by them and are applied.
What represents scientific consciousness
Unlike ordinary consciousness, theoretical scientific it is considered higher form as it describes the communications and regularities which are available between the phenomena and objects evidential and with the most possible accuracy.
Scientific consciousness differs from ordinary in severity of approach and also a support on prior main scientific knowledge on which it is based. Theoretical and ordinary consciousness interact among themselves. The first look in relation to the second is secondary, but also and changes it. It must be kept in mind that steady stereotypes and forms of ordinary consciousness in various cases are not capable to be the ultimate truth as they are limited to empirical level. At this level of attempt of judgment often generate illusions, delusions and false expectations, and both on public, and at the personal level. Nevertheless, everyday life is impossible without ordinary consciousness. Theoretical scientific consciousness which owing to the specifics cannot be mass continues to act only on pragmatical and rational level that is natural to the organization of universal high forms of culture.
What the value of ordinary consciousness consists in
You should not draw prematurely conclusions that ordinary consciousness is defective. However, to some extent it really reflects public public consciousness, being on defined - usually very low - the level of cultural development. On the other hand, if the individual has a high cultural organization, its existence usually not only does not promote, but even interferes with its feasible participation in production of various material values at primary level. In general about 70% of society often most of all interest usefulness, practical application of knowledge in real life. Ordinary consciousness of healthy society distinguishes harmony and integrity, providing it resilience. Therefore it, reflecting reality, consciousness is closer to reality, than other types. Moreover, from variety of experience of ordinary consciousness of society there is also a religion, philosophy, ideology, arts and sciences as the highest forms of universal consciousness, making the content of culture.
