Polycarpous pregnancy meets at people infrequently. Therefore the birth of twins is considered a bright event in life of married couple. Sometimes their birth is a surprise for parents. But most often symptoms of polycarpous pregnancy can be calculated already on the first trimester.

1. Even if the woman does not visit the gynecologist during pregnancy, she can reveal some signs of twins. For example, at those who bear twins the increased fatigue is often observed. The stomach can be still not visible, and pregnancy has an effect by means of drowsiness, slackness, apathy. The pregnant woman can have a feeling that forces suddenly abandoned her, and it does not have enough for anything energy.
2. Fatigue in itself means little. But if it is followed by severe toxicosis, the probability of incubation of twins increases. Polycarpous pregnancy can be followed by regular nausea and vomiting. These signs are sometimes shown even on the third trimester. However this indicator is individual – some women have a severe toxicosis throughout incubation, others do not have it at all.

6. Often twins are suspected at too early diagnostics of pregnancy. For example, the test was positive to a delay, or all in a week after conception.
7. It is the simplest to reveal twins at visit of the doctor. For example, at measurement of an interval between the top part of a uterus and the top part of a pubis, the gestational age of a fruit can be higher, than is actually. That is, if from the moment of conception there passed 16 weeks, and the result of a research showed 25, most likely, pregnancy polycarpous.
8. Most precisely pregnancy by twins diagnoses by means of ultrasonography. Ultrasound shows result with an accuracy of 99.9%, especially on the second and third trimester.
