Instruction
1. Disconnect the modem from the power grid and connect it to the router by means of the Ethernet cable. Use at the same time Internet or Modem port on the back panel of the router, it, as a rule, is near the power port and is highlighted in the color or the label. Remove a cable between the modem and the computer if it was installed earlier.
2. Switch off the computer. Take one more Ethernet cable. Connect one its end to the network connector on the back panel of the system unit of the computer. Connect other end of a cable to one of the numbered ports of the router. What port you at the same time select, does not matter.
3. Connect the modem to the power grid and turn on it, wait when the modem establishes connection with the server of your Internet service provider, it can take 1-2 minutes. About success of connection will show indicators on the front panel of the device. Connect the router to the power grid and turn on it, wait when the router establishes connection with the modem, about success of connection the lit-up fires on the front panel of the router signal. Now turn on the computer. Connect devices in such order, otherwise connection with the Internet can not turn out.
4. Open the web browser and enter the router address in its address bar. The IP address of the router can be found in documentation to the device or on the official site of vendor. As a result you will pass to the page of settings of the router. For access to settings you will need to enter the login and the password. Most often as the login the word admin, and acts as the password – the word password. The field the password can also remain empty. Read exact information on the login and the password in documentation to the device.
5. On the page of settings you can change the name of a wireless network – SSID, encryption type for protection of network and also to set the password for access to a wireless network. Having made necessary settings, click Apply or Save.
6. If in a set the disk is applied to the router, install programs which on it are available, they will simplify setup of the device. Try to install the router closer to the center of the room as it is possible further from walls, so the signal from it will be the most stable.
