TIC operation principle
The thematic index of citing consists of the total weight of the referring websites. Total weight consists of two components:
- the number of the links conducting on an Internet resource;
- qualities of these links — i.e. their importance. The importance of links is defined, first of all, by thematic proximity of the referring websites.
At the same time links only from the resources indexed by Yandex, and which are not bulletin boards, forums, blogs, social networks are considered. Accurate algorithms of calculation of the thematic index of citing by the Yandex company are not published, and can even change.
For what Yandex lowers TIC
Decrease in an indicator of the thematic index of citing can happen for a number of reasons:
1. Pages with links were deleted. The thematic index of citing can go down if for a number of reasons pages or even the whole websites which were earlier referring to an Internet resource were deleted.
2. The referring website was excluded from the index. As it was told earlier, the referring website shall be indexed by Yandex. Removal of the referring resource from the database of the index will lead to lowering of TIC.
3. Yandex marked the website as "useless". According to representatives of the company, in calculation of TIC only "natural links" are considered, and the resource should be "useful" to users. From the point of view of Yandex, the Internet resource can be recognized as useless for a number of reasons:
- the website does not contain original and "useful" content;
- the website contains a large number of references to third-party resources;
- TIC of a resource was increased artificially by means of purchase of links and other actions.
4. Yandex changed an algorithm of calculation of TIC. It was already noted above that algorithms of calculation of TIC can be changed. In that case possibly and change of TIC of a resource, including towards reduction.
