The forum is the web application allowing to organize communication between visitors of a web resource on certain subjects. Today forums are very popular. To install this application to itself on the website, it is enough to find a suitable script and to configure it under itself.

- - forum script;
- - hosting with PHP and MySQL;
- - FTP client.
Instruction
1. Select the script which is the most suitable for your purposes for installation on a hosting. There is a large number of free forums among which It should be noted phpBB having a large number of the plug-ins and expansions creating unlimited opportunities for the website. However the script is very exacting to server resources, and this functionality can seem to most of users excessive, and therefore there are more lightweight forum engines – PunBB, SMF, xBB and intellect board.
2. Download the selected engine and unpack the received archive on the computer. If you installed the local Apache server, try to install the forum engine at first to yourself on the computer attentively to study settings and to check operability of a script. For installation it is enough to place the unpacked files in a directory of htdocs of the folder of the local server and to pass in the browser to the address http://localhost/folder where folder – the name of your folder in which files of a forum were placed. If the script uses MySQL bases for data storage, do not forget to create it through phpMyAdmin.
3. After testing load a script to yourself on the server through FTP, using the control panel of a hosting or any FTP client installed on the computer. If the forum works with MySQL, do not forget to create the new database in the control panel of a hosting.
4. Enter the address to which the script is placed on the server. Installation and setup of basic parameters of a forum will be offered you. Following instructions on the screen, enter necessary parameters and wait for the end of modification of files. Installation of a forum is complete.
