1. Activation of ICQ is used by service of instant messaging as protection against spam. Operation is made by means of the standard client of ICQ and carried out by means of transition on the reference given in a program window.
2. If you use the third-party program for communication for ICQ, for example QIP or Miranda, you will be required to install the official client of service. For this purpose pass to the official site and download the latest version of the application, having clicked the button in the lower left part of the appeared page or having selected the section "Download" in the top menu. Wait for loading of the client on your PC then open the received file and make installation, following instructions on the screen.
3. After installation start the client, having double-clicked on its icon on a desktop or having selected the corresponding item of the section "Start-up" - "All programs" - ICQ. Wait for the end of loading of the interface and emergence of a window of input of UIN and the password.
4. Specify data of your account and click "Enter". Having waited for loading of a contact list, click on any contact from the list and try to send the message of any contents. In response to the sent message, to you the notification on need of performing activation will come.
5. Follow the link from this message. You will get on the page of authorization where you should enter the data again and also the code for protection against automatic filling. As soon as you fill necessary fields, click confirmation of the entered data. If everything is correct, the procedure of activation will be complete.
6. After that close the started program, and then open any ICQ client installed on your computer. Log in to the account and try to send to somebody the message. Setup of parameters of service is complete.
