How to clean an arp-cache

In TCP/IP connection the crucial role is played by ARP (protocol of definition of the address). Therefore if some problems when loading some websites appeared or lack of a ping of the IP addresses, then try to clean an arp-cache. It should be noted that this procedure only from the command line is performed.

Instruction

1. At first make a call of the command line, having opened the Start menu (Start). In the search string enter ""cmd"", but without quotes, and do not click the ENTER key. Instead it is necessary to click the right mouse button the link ""cmd.exe"" and to select the line "Start on behalf of the Administrator" (or Run as Administrator). Now it is necessary to confirm execution of process in a window under the name "Control of Accounts". After that you will see the command line. By the way, if its icon is already fixed in "Start-up", then you should not use search.

2. Further start command execution ""arp - a"". With its help the list of all records ARP which are stored on the device will be displayed. However the option - an is not only as the arp command supports also other switches. For example, - d, it allows to delete the IP address. Thanking - d - an is possible to delete all records from the table ARP. The option - s, on the contrary, adds entries in the table.

3. Completely to delete an ARP cache in Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 OS, it is necessary to click "Start-up", then "Execute". In the appeared field enter the netsh interface ip delete arpcache command. For completion of operation click Ok.

4. Just in case check whether successfully there took place the procedure of cleaning. For this purpose execute the arp command - a. If the cache was not cleaned, then the reason can be in an error of the operating system. Such error can arise at activation of Routing and Remote Access service.

5. For a solution enter the control panel, in the section "System and Safety" select "Administration". Further start the Control of the Computer application and double click open the section of "Service". Click on the Routing and Remote Access point, and in the appeared menu start an option "Is disconnected". As soon as you perform all necessary operations, again try to clean an arp-cache.
