In the course of web surfing on the hard drive of the computer there are information fragments – small text files thanks to which at repeated visit of the website the browser identifies the client. These files is called cookies (cookies). For maintaining anonymity on the Internet it is necessary to delete cookies.
Instruction
1. If you use Internet Explorer, right-click on an icon of the browser and in a context menu select "Properties". In the section "History of Viewing" click "Delete" and in a window of removal of history put a checkbox near the Cookie Files point. Click "Delete".
2. In IE there is a possibility of anonymous web surfing when the browser prohibits websites to leave cookies on the client's computer. This mode is called InPrivate. For his call click Ctrl+Alt+P. The anonymity is maintained only in the opened window. After its closing, normal security settings will work.
3. To delete cookies from Mozilla Firefox, start the browser and in the Log menu select the Delete Recent History item. Click a down arrow near a drop-down list of "Detail" and check near the Cookies point. Open a drop-down list "Delete" and specify a time interval for which you want to clean cookies.
4. If you are going to maintain anonymity constantly, can prohibit the websites to leave cookies on your computer. In the Tools menu click "Settings" and select the Privacy tab. In the section "Tracking" select the I Do Not Want Me to Be Traced item. In a drop-down list of Firefox specify in the section "History" "Will not remember history".
5. For removal of cookies from Opera in the Other Tools menu click "Clean history" and note a checkbox the Delete Cookies and Other Data point. Specify a time interval for which cookies should be deleted in a drop-down list.
6. In Opera there is too an opportunity to prohibit cookies. In the Setup list in the left part of a window select "Safety" and specify actions which you allow the browser in the section Cookies: store cookies, prohibit, delete at an output from the browser. For more granular control of security settings click "Management of Exceptions" and enter the addresses of the websites to which it is authorized or it is forbidden to leave cookies.
7. To delete cookies from Google Chrome, press the control button settings in the upper right corner and select the History item. It is possible to use the Ctrl+H keyboard shortcut also. Click "Clean history" and note the Cookies … point specify by a checkbox the necessary period In a drop-down list and click "Clean history".
8. Google Chrome offers the option of anonymous web surfing – the mode incognito. For transition to this mode key Ctrl+Shift+N. After closing of tabs of cookies from the visited sites do not remain, however your actions will be visible to the system administrator and provider.
