ICQ (I Seek You) - an instant messaging client. Practically all clients supporting online communication understand as ""ICQ"". Such clients supports many functions, one of which allows the user to save the history of correspondence.
Instruction
1. Storage function of history of messages - one of the most demanded ICQ functions. This function can be both active, and not active. By default, this function is active. The client provides the choice of storage of type of messages: ""Save the history of messages with contacts from my list" ", " "Save the history of messages not from my list" ", " "Save service messages"". Viewing and removal of messages is in the history carried out in several ways.
2. Viewing and removal of history through the client of ""ICQ"". You will select the right mouse button the contact interesting you, in the opened menu you will select ""The history of messages"". The window with all history of message exchange for the selected client will open. In the appeared window functions of search of messages, removals of history, saving all story in the file with the *.txt extension to any selected place on the hard drive are implemented. For removal of all history of correspondence with the selected contact in the History of Messages window click ""Clean"". History will be deleted. Besides, in some clients of ""ICQ"" the function of removal only of some messages of correspondence is implemented. For this purpose in the History of Messages window you will select the right mouse button the necessary message, and then a menu item ""Delete"". The selected message will be deleted from history.
3. The history of correspondence represents the text file with the *.txt extension which is located in a directory with the installed files of the client of ""ICQ"". For definition of a directory, open properties of a label of the client who is on a desktop. Path to the installed ICQ files is specified in the Object field. Open the folder with the installed files. Find the folder with the name History in it. In it files with the *.txt extension are located. Names of these files correspond to numbers of contacts with which correspondence was carried out. Through a user interface of the client of ""ICQ"" define number of the contact interesting you. By means of any text editor, for example, ""Notepad"", open the file which name matches number of the contact interesting you. Opened the file contains all history of correspondence with the selected contact. It is necessary to work with the history of messages as about normal as the text, i.e. it can be browsed, partially or completely to delete, add new entries. After editing it is necessary to save changes.
