It is required to get on the server for execution of the specific tasks, most often, connected with issues of administration of any given website. It is possible to make it, having used the special client program.

- - PuTTY program;
- - credentials of the server.
Instruction
1. Find in the Internet, download and install the free PuTTY client program.
2. Start PuTTY. For connection to a remote server add the description of a new session. Enter the section Session, having clicked the corresponding line in the list at the left. In a text string of Host Name (or IP address) print a symbolical name or IP servers on which you want to get. In the options Connection type select the communication corresponding to the protocol of data of the established connection. In the Port field specify number of remote port. Write a session name in the graph Saved Sessions and save the Save button.
3. Select the created session in the list. Set terminal emulator operation parameters. Enter the section Terminal. Activate the options Auto, Force on or Force off in the Local echo and Local line editing tabs to carry out automatic detection, forced inclusion and switching off in the modes of local text entering and editing lines. In the graph Set various terminal options you can activate or disable the options determining parameters of reflection of the text in the terminal.
4. Determine parameters of keyboard input. In the section Keyboard in the Change the sequences sent by group note the keys designating by Home and Backspace and also a layout of function keys on the auxiliary keyboard. In the Application key pad settings group it is necessary to set start state of the numeric keypad and cursor keys.
5. Open the section Connection. Here it is necessary to configure properties of connection. In the Internet protocol version group select the version of the IP protocol. The Sending of null packets to keep session active group is used to set parameters of activity of support of connection.
6. You enter on the server. Click Open and wait for connection. In the appeared window enter credentials of the server. If data are right, you will be allowed to the interface of the command processor of the server.
