The termination of access to any website can be necessary in different cases. For example, parents will want to limit loading of some resources for the child or the employer will wish to close access to social networks for employees at office. For achievement of the purpose it is possible to use one of several ways.
Instruction
1. Come into "My computer", open a disk C. Among all available folders find Windows. Now pass into the System 32 folder, and then into Drivers and etc. In the last there will also be a file necessary to you under the name hosts. Open it by means of a notepad. For this purpose double-click according to the file with the left mouse button. In the appeared list select the program and click OK. It is possible to arrive and in a different way: click not with the left, but the right button, further select the column under the name "Open with the Help". And again stop your choice on the Notepad program.
2. After opening of the file find a line of ""127.0.0.1 localhost"". Click the ENTER key and register the specified combination of digits. However instead of the word localhost specify the website which you want to block (for example, www.sait.com). To stop access to several addresses, repeat this procedure.
3. Reboot. Until you it make, the websites will be still available on your computer.
4. It is possible to prohibit access to some websites and through settings of the browser. Users of Internet Explorer need to open a tab "Service", and in it to click on "Internet Options". Now select the Confidentiality menu, then "Nodes". Specify those websites which need to be blocked, click "Block" and confirm action, having clicked the OK key.
5. In the Mozilla Firefox browser for blocking of the websites it is possible to use special plug-ins. To add at least one of them, open the Tools tab, then turn into "Additions". After that click on addition necessary to you, for example, with LeechBlock. Further press the Install Now button. Upon completion of installation process surely reboot or at least restart the browser. To add the address of the blocked website, start a plug-in and come into the Options tab. Pay attention to what you can install as a total ban on the website (that is constant), and temporary.
