As a part of any operating system of the Windows family there is a system registry which is some kind of database. System operations it is impossible without files of the register. It is necessary to approach their editing with all care since it is at times quite difficult to return back made changes.

Instruction
1. By default an editor of the register is the Regedit utility which is built in the standard software package. Also there is a large number of third-party utilities by means of which it is possible to edit files of the register, but the standard program than not worse by opportunities and functionality.
2. For start of the Regedit program it is necessary to click the Start menu and to choose the Execute command. In the empty field of the opened window enter the regedit command and click the ENTER key. You will see a window of the editor of the register.
3. Also the editor it is possible to start, having executed in only 3 actions: pass to a desktop, click the right button on the My Computer icon and select the Editor of the Register item.
4. If for any reasons there is no this icon, it can be restored easily. For this purpose right-click on a desktop and select the line "Properties". In an applet of "Property of the screen" pass to the Desktop tab and click "Setup of a Desktop". Give a mark opposite to the My Computer point and click OK.
5. In a main window of the program which is separated into two parts all main actions for editing files of the register are made. In the left part there are register branches, they can be compared to hard drive partitions, and in the right part directories and parameters which can be compared to folders and files are located.
6. For search of a certain value it is necessary to click the top Editing menu and to select Find value or to click the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F. In the opened window enter required value and click "Find Further". In several seconds in the right part of a window the first search result will be selected. If it does not suit you, key F3.
7. For saving changes it is enough to close the program, having clicked a cross icon in the upper right corner or having selected the Output item in the File menu.
