Internet Explorer is the program browser which allows to exchange data with websites and also serves for viewing graphic files, HTML files and many others. That IE displayed files correctly, it needs to be configured correctly.

Instruction

1. For a call of a settings window of the browser come into "Control panel" and open mouse click the icon "Internet Options". There is also other path: double click on IE label on "Desktop", come into the menu "Service" and choose the Internet Options command.

2. On the General tab in the section "Home page" enter the address of a website which will open the first at start of the browser. It can be the search engine, your personal page, e-mail or any other resource which you visit most often. If you want the browser to be started from the empty page, press the Empty button. Confirm the choice, having clicked OK.

3. The section "History of Viewing" contains information on the sites which you visited recently. At repeated visit of the same resources the browser checks whether their contents changed. If is not present, for acceleration of work IE loads the page which is stored on your hard drive in the Temporary Files folder. Also on the hard drive cookies ("cookies") – small text files tags which the website leaves on the visitor's computer contain to recognize him at the following visit. Press the Delete button and select checkboxes types of files of which you want to get rid.

4. Click "Parameters" to set duration of storage of temporary files, the size of the folder which is taken away under temporary files, etc. Press the Show Files button to see contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder.

5. Select the Safety tab to configure settings of safe net surfing. Note the icon "Reliable nodes" or "Limited nodes", click "Node" and in a new window enter the addresses of web pages which you consider reliable or, on the contrary, dangerous. Note an icon Internet and click "Another". In a window of parameters set radio buttons to that position which suits you. Click OK for choice confirmation.

6. In the Confidentiality tab you can block pop-up windows. In the section "Parameters" click "In addition" to prohibit or allow the browser to accept cookies from certain nodes. To prohibit the browser to store the history of your visits of websites, note a checkbox Not Collect Data … point in the section InPrivate.

7. In In the addition tab you can specify security settings, selecting checkboxes the corresponding points. In the section "Multimedia" configure the browser for works with media files. To cancel the changes made to you, click "Reset".

8. Select the Contents tab and click "Include" to prohibit access to some Internet resources to other people which use your computer. Usually such restrictions are imposed to secure children against contents of web pages which can have an adverse effect on them. For creation of the list of the prohibited websites you should enter the password in the General tab.
