Most the firms providing services of connection to the Internet of home users configure connection. But sometimes there is a need to make it independently, for example, if you decided to replace the old modem.
Instruction
1. Connect the device to the computer and to an electrical network. The network cable is included in the package of delivery of the modem. Thrust it one end in the modem, and to others to the network port of the computer. Their form excludes a possibility of an error. Both ends of a cable are equivalent, that is there is no difference what of connectors is connected to the modem and what — to the computer. Get the power adapter from packaging, connect it to the modem and to the power grid. Click On on the back panel of your modem of D-Link. On the face indicators of network and connection will light up.
2. Start any web browser and dial such digits in an address bar: 192.168.1.1 is a standard network address of the modem. Click the ENTER key and you will see a window with request of the login and password. By default this word admin. Enter it in the field a user name and the password, and then click Apprx. the Browser will display the page by means of which it is possible to configure the Internet via the modem of D-Link.
3. Find in documents which were provided to you by provider of communication services, yours a user name, the password and also network settings — VPI and VCI. These are parameters of modulation of a signal, without them it will not turn out to be connected to the Internet even with the correct login and the password.
4. Click with the inscription WAN on the page of setup of the modem. It is in a column at the left. Find the Add button in the central part of the screen and activate it. The page of settings of connection will open. Enter in the VCI and VPI fields data from your documents from provider. Click Next in the lower part of the screen.
5. Note a point the PPP over Ethernet point (PPPoE) on the following page of settings. In the lower half of the screen of a drop-down list select LLC/SNAP-BRIGING option and click Next to go to the next stage of actions.
6. Enter yours a user name and the password in the PPP username and PPP password field. Note a tick the Keep Alive point in the central part of the page and click NEXT below.
7. Put down ticks opposite to the inscriptions Enable NAT and Enable Firewall and also in the Enable WAN Service point. Click Next and pass to the page of final data on connection. Click Apply and wait several minutes. The modem will reboot with use of new parameters.
8. Open in the browser the page of setup of the modem — 192.168.1.1, enter the login and the password "admin". Click on the section Device info in the left part of the page. The screen of data on connection will open. If all places are taken by the network addresses, means you could configure successfully the Internet via the modem of D-Link. Otherwise repeat the procedure of setup, attentively checking the entered data.
