Remote access to the computer allows to use resources of this PC, being connected to it through a local area network or the Internet. If access to network of the computer is provided via the DSL modem, it is necessary to set up this equipment correctly.

- - DSL modem;
- - network cable.
Instruction
1. Connect the computer or the laptop to the DSL modem. Use for this purpose Ethernet (LAN) port of the network equipment. Open the web interface of settings of the modem. For this purpose enter its IP address in the field of the browser.
2. Enter the login and the password and click the ENTER key. Study available menus of the interface of settings of the DSL modem. Open the menu "Network" or the Network. Find the NAT submenu and pass to it. Specify an operation mode of the Only SUA device in the Main or General tab. Select the Laying of Routes or Port Forwarding item.
3. In the Rule Setup menu install a tick near the Active point. It will allow you to set rules for network connections independently. In the Service Name field enter a name of service or a command for which this rule is created. It should be noted that it is not obligatory to enter the original name. This field is designed to help you to be guided in the created rules.
4. Now find out the port number which is used by the program of remote access. It can be the utilities Radmin, Remote Desktop, VNC and so on. Enter value of port in the following fields: External Port Start (End) and Internal Port Start (End).
5. In the Server IP-Address field enter IP addresses value of that computer to which connection will be executed. In your case it is the address of the computer from which you perform tuning of the modem.
6. Two times click Apply to save the set parameters. Open the menu "Network" or the Network and pass into the Client List submenu. Find a line in which data of the network interface card of your PC are displayed and install a tick in the field of Reserve. Click Apply. Now the DSL modem will always give to your network interface card that IP address which is used at present.
7. Open the Security menu and select the Firewall item. Click Add relating to the Rules submenu. Select type of the rule WAN to LAN. Two times enter the port number which is used by the program of remote access, and click Apply. Reboot the modem and check a possibility of implementation of remote connection to your PC.
