1. If you need to connect the laptop to the Internet within the apartment or the house, then acquire Wi-Fi the router. This equipment integrates several computers and laptops in a single local area network, giving them an opportunity of connection to the Internet. Visit the site of vendor of your mobile computer. Find out with what types of Wi-fi networks its adapter can work.
2. On the basis of data retrieveds get Wi-Fi the router. Surely specify via what connector the connection of the device with the server is carried out. Normally it is LAN ports (network cable) and DSL (telephone line). Connect the router to the power supply network, having installed it in the right place. Do not hide the device in a cabinet and do not stand in the most far corner. It can negatively affect signal quality of a wireless network.
3. Connect a cable which was provided to you by provider to the Internet (WAN) connector. In turn, connect the twisted pair cable to LAN port. Thrust other its end in the network interface card of the laptop. Turn on the router and the mobile computer.
4. Open the user guide to the network equipment. Find out what internal IP address is used by this model. Enter this value into an url-line of the browser which is previously started on the laptop. Pass into the Internet Settings menu after a login to the web interface of settings of the device.
5. Fill the required fields of the opened menu. It is better to use those parameters which you set at implementation of direct connection of the laptop to the Internet. Check activity of the NAT and DHCP functions.
6. Save settings of connection with the Internet and pass to the Wireless Settings point. Set operation parameters of wireless access point. Use the modes which are supported by the adapter of wireless communication of the mobile computer. Save settings of the router and reboot the equipment.
7. Disconnect the network cable from the laptop. Execute connection to your wireless network. Check its activity.
