The IP addresses are unique. They have length of 4 bytes and register in the form of four groups of the digits from 0 to 255 separated by points. Each group designates network, group of nodes and the identifying node.
Instruction
1. Look at the first group of digits at the left. It defines the class IP addresses. Them exists only five. They are designated by the first five letters of the latin alphabet: A, B, C, D, E. They are distinguished on numerical value. For class A it is from 1 to 126, for In - from 128 to 191, for With - from 192 to 223, for D - from 224 to 239, and for E - from 240 to 247. Classes differ with number of discharges of network numbers and a node, and it influences the width of an interval of values. Classes A, B and C serve for mailing of information on separate nodes or on network of the computers connected among themselves. But such multicasting is necessary not always. When it is necessary to select group of the nodes which are not entering into the general network the class D is used. And E range is in a reserve so far.
2. Exclude probability that you deal with the special IP addresses. What have first three digits - 127 belong to them, for example. In this case the computer obtains data from itself, and information is processed on a node sender. As a rule, this address is written for testing. Contrast is IP 255.255.255.255 which sends data to all nodes of network and is used for limited broadcasting. Besides, address 0.0.0.0. which serves for self-identification of a node sender is office.
3. Find out whether this IP address is local. Those which first two groups of digits - 192.168 concern them. Use them for setup of local networks.
4. Check the IP address on any of specialized Internet services. Having entered the address or the domain, you obtain information maximum, a coma and where it belongs. Make it, for example, on the websites 1whois.ru, whois-service.ru or 2ip.ru/whois/.
5. Transfer IP to the domain by means of special scripts. Such check is suggested to be made here - http://www.ifstudio.org/seo/ipreverse.php. If to this IP there corresponds no domain, service will not issue any information.
