Each computer connected to the Internet has the unique network address – IP. At the same time in network there cannot be two computers with identical ip. Sometimes the user has a need to define the address of some Internet resource or to learn own.
Instruction
1. If the domain name of a resource is known, it is possible to define its address by the ping command. For an example we will define ip of a search service of Google. Open the command line: Start-up – All programs – Standard – the Command line. Enter "ping www.google.com" (without quotes) and click Enter. There will be a line "Exchange of Packages of www.google.com", is farther in brackets ip of this resource will be specified.
2. Sometimes the user suspects that someone was connected to its computer. It is possible to learn the IP address of the remote computer in this case by means of the netstat command – aon. Again open the command line, enter "netstat – aon", click Enter. You will see the list of connections. In the graph "Foreign address" will be specified ah-p remote computers.
3. Pay attention to the column "Status". The ESTABLISHED value says that at present connection with the IP address specified in the graph "Foreign address" is established. The status of "LISTENING" demonstrates that some program on your computer waits for connection. You can see port number opened by this program in the graph "Local Address".
4. Having seen open port on the computer, check what program opens it. Perhaps, at your computer there is a server part of the Trojan program expecting connection. Some ports – for example, 135 and 445, open the operating system. They are recommended to be closed by means of the wwdc.exe program.
5. Sometimes there is a need to define ip of the sender of the letter. It is possible to make it in two ways: the first – through email clients, for example, Outlook Express or The Bat!. Browse letter heading, having selected the corresponding option in the menu of the program, in heading all information, including a source address will be specified.
6. The second way to learn the IP address of the sender is to use the relevant services of the mail service used by you. For example, in Rambler for viewing heading open the letter, then click "Other Actions" and select "Letter headings". Similar services are also in other mail services.
