1. The easiest way - ask the system administrator (if you at work) or call Internet service provider if you are at home.
2. If there is no such opportunity - click ""Start-up"". In the opened menu you will select ""Control panel"" (in Windows XP for this purpose at first it is necessary to click ""Settings"").
3. We select ""Network and Connection to the Internet"" (""Network and Sharing Center"", depending on the version of Windows can be called).
4. In the new menu we select ""Network connections" "or" "Management of network connections"" (besides, depends on the version of Windows, in Windows 7 it can be called ""Change of parameters of the adapter"").
5. There you will see type of your connection. For example, PPPOE (high-speed connection) or PPTP (VPN).
6. One more possible option - guide a mouse on the Internet (usually is to the left of a volume icon in the bottom panel at once). Click an icon once. The first line displays network to which you are connected, and the second - connection type. If more detailed information is necessary - we press on an inscription at the very bottom of a window, the menu opens, in the left panel select ""Change of parameters of the adapter"".
7. If you need additional information, for example, your IP address, then it can be learned without problems on the specialized websites. Enter request into search engine: ""my IP"". The necessary websites will be displayed by the first or second line in results of the searcher. There it is possible to find the mass of additional information.
