To set up the network equipment, it is necessary to configure gateways sometimes independently. To disconnect the necessary device from network, it is necessary to switch off the gateway connected to the Internet.
Instruction
1. Start the web browser on the computer which is connected to the network equipment to open the menu of settings of the router. Enter its IP address and click Enter. Then enter the password and a user name to get access to settings of the network equipment.
2. If you need to switch-off all networked PCs completely, then disconnect the Internet with the router. Pass for this purpose into the Status menu. You will find a status of connection with network in it. Further click on "Disconnect".
3. If you need to disconnect certain devices from network or the Internet, open the menu of special additional parameters. Further pass to the Routing table point. Select necessary local port, then delete all routes. This method allows to reset settings of all static routes. If the DHCP function is active, then computers will be able to get access to network of the Internet.
4. If you use the router of ASUS, open the menu under the name "Status", find in it the list of devices which are connected to the router, and the scheme of network.
5. Now you can select the necessary computer or the laptop and to set the Disable parameter. It is recommended to resort to this way of shutdown of the gateway only if computers are connected via network hubs to the router. That is to LAN port of the router it is connected by several PC at once.
6. If one PC for which it is necessary to switch-off the gateway is connected directly to LAN port, then to you rather simply physically to break off this connection, having pulled out the network cable.
7. If you want to disconnect from network a certain computer on long term, then enter the MAC address of its network interface card into the table of the router. For this purpose install the Disable value MAC addresses. To apply all changes of settings, reboot the router.
