Yandex the counter is a part of the convenient and free tool for webmasters "Yandex. The metrics" which allows to collect statistics about the number of visitors of the website, to analyze their behavior on its pages and to monitor search queries on which users come to your website.

Instruction
1. For receiving an opportunity to use service "Yandex. The metrics" and setting the counter to the website, at first is required to you access to a personal part of Yandex. If you have no such access yet, undergo registration procedure. If you already have the account, enter the user name and the password on the page of service "Yandex. Metrics". Click "Add the Counter". In a window of the browser the page of settings of the added counter will be displayed.
2. For creation of the counter you need to enter his name and the address on the General tab. Enter the name for the created counter in the Name and URL field in the field "Website Address". If your website has mirrors, you can specify their address, having pressed the Add a Mirror button. Service "Yandex. The metrics" can notify webmasters if for some reason the website became unavailable. Notifications can arrive both on e-mail, and on the mobile phone by means of SMS. For obtaining such notifications install the corresponding ticks in the section of the settings "Notify Me on Problems in Work of the Website" and specify the e-mail address to which it is necessary to send notifications and specify mobile phone number, having clicked on the link in the Subscribe to SMS Notifications point. Accept terms of use of service, having selected the corresponding checkbox. Click "Continue".
3. Further you can enable advanced settings for "Yandex of the counter". A part of settings requires formations of the special code of the counter which will be added on pages of the website. If you want your counter to transfer optional data for the functions "Webvizor", "Card of Clicks" or displayed "Informer", select the corresponding checkboxes on the Code of the Counter tab and click "Save".
4. "Yandex the counter" allows to install filters for the data arriving from the website. Such filters allow to delete different information from the URL address of the visited page. For example, to delete the sessid parameter which is intended for functioning of the mechanism of a session on the website from the name of the page and can litter statistics. To add the filter go to the Filters tab and click "Add Operation".
5. You can specify for "Yandex of the counter" of the purpose which demonstrate success of carrying out a certain company on advance of the website or its services. For this purpose go to the Purposes tab and click "Add the Purpose". Specify the number of visits of a certain address which you would like to reach on your website in the appeared window and specify its address, having pressed the URL pages button. Then click "Add". Your new counter will be able visually to display the number of visits of the page of fee, the number of downloading of certain files from your website or other purpose which you will set.
6. You can provide access to statistics of "Yandex of the counter" to specialists or partners, having clicked "Add the User" on an access tab. Also you can make access to statistics public, having selected for this purpose the corresponding checkbox.
7. After you set all settings for the created "Yandex of the counter", go to the Code of the Counter tab and copy the generated code from the respective field.
8. Insert this code on your website. Many modern engines allow to add the code of the counter from "Control panel" of the website or by means of plug-ins. If the engine of your website does not give such opportunity, insert the received code into a template which is responsible for generation of all pages between tags. To learn the name of the corresponding template, refer to documentation or the developer of the engine of your website.
