1. For creation of own home local area network you will need the router. If you want to turn on laptops in its structure, then it is more reasonable to buy the device with the Wi-fi support of network.
2. Before purchase of Wi-fi of the router find out characteristics of your laptops. Pay attention to types of safety and a radio signal with which they work. Naturally, you need the device with the DSL connector for connection to the Internet.
3. Get Wi-Fi the router and connect it to a telephone line through a splitter. This device separates high and low frequencies.
4. Connect the computer or the laptop to the router through LAN (Ethernet) channel. For this purpose use the network cable. Turn on the computer and open the browser. Enter into its address bar of the IP router, having put previously the line http://.
5. Before setup of the equipment recommend to update the version of its software. For this purpose pass to the official site of vendor of your router and download the required files.
6. Open the Main Interface menu, click "Update" and specify path to the downloaded files. Now pass to the Internet Setup menu. Change parameters of connection to the server to those which are recommended by your provider.
7. Pass into the Wireless network setup menu (Wi-Fi Settings, Wireless Setup). Create wireless access point, having entered her name, the password, types of transfer of a radio signal and safety.
8. Save the applied parameters and reboot the equipment. Connect all laptops to the created access point, and computers – to Ethernet (LAN) ports.
