Instruction
1. Learn data for an input on the server from its owner who decided to provide you access. Input of a user name (but not the password) can be carried out, having placed the following text in an address bar of the browser: //This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.: nnnn, where username - a user name, and ftp.server.domain - the address of the FTP server, nnnn - port.
2. It is possible and just to enter the server address without user name - the browser all the same will request it together with the password: ftp://ftp.server.domain:nnnn
3. After connection with the server requiring authorizations, the browser will display an entry form of the login and password. The appearance of this form depends on the version and vendor of the program. Fill both fields and click Enter.
4. In case of a successful input on the server you will see the maintenance of its root folder. Some of folders will be available only for reading, others - and for record, and the third - are unavailable at all. Everything depends on what rights were granted to you by the owner of a resource. If the wrong data are entered, access it will be denied.
5. The majority of browsers does not give the chance to carry out with files on the FTP server of any other operations, except downloading. All other operations, such as loading or removal of files, FTP clients and also some file managers, for example, of Midnight Commander and Far Manager allow to carry out. The method of input of the address of the server and also a user name and the password for an input on it depends on the used program. For example, in Midnight Commander for this purpose it is necessary in the Left Panel or Right Panel menu (depending on in what panel it is required to open the directory of the server) to select the FTP connection item. 6. To leave the server, just close the corresponding tab of the browser, leave the client program, or open in the file manager panel instead of the remote folder any local.
