The English-speaking version of the name Wi-Fi looks so: Wi-Fi. It represents the word-play hinting at the known Hi-fi standard - "High Fidelity" or in Russian "High accuracy". It is possible to interpret the term "Wi-fi" so: "Wireless Fidelity" (in translation - "the wireless accuracy") though at the moment this formulation officially is not used, and this term is not subject to interpretation.
Instruction
1. Wi-Fi, or otherwise WLAN, represents the wireless internet working according to the IEEE 802.11n standards (data transmission is carried out at a speed up to 300 Mbit/sec.), IEEE 802.11a (speed up to 54 Mbit/sec. at frequencies within 5 GHz), IEEE 802.11b (data transmission rate – up to 11 Mbit/sec. at frequencies up to 2.4 GHz), IEEE 802.11.g (speed of 54 Mbit/sec., but frequencies – up to 2.4 GHz).
2. All this functions so: devices clients (personal computers, laptops, smartphones and others) by means of Wi-Fi-receivers (adapters) are connected to access point. Connection with a local area network or with a world wide web is executed automatically literally in several seconds after connection. How the Internet is brought to access point, does not matter.
3. Start the computer and open "Control center of networks". Select wireless connections and find that network to which you wish to be connected in the list.
4. Click on the name of network and if necessary enter the password. The computer will execute connection, and the system will ask to define type of network. Access points on two categories: private and public. The first are used only by their owners, but if protection of network the password was not made, other users also can be connected to it. Public are those which or it is free, or for money, give an opportunity of Internet access to unlimited number of persons interested. Places of access to a wireless internet ("spot jotas") are located in places of a congestion of the people: the airports, railway stations, libraries, hotels, restaurants, cafe, and the last use such opportunity as a good bait for clients: the visitor, having connected to the Internet, something, at least a water bottle, but will buy, even from decency.
