If your site is visited by a large number of people, it can be made more interactive by means of a mini-chat insert. This addition will allow visitors to communicate with each other and at the same time will not take a lot of place on the page.
It is required to you
- - HTML-code of a chat;
- - program for editing the HTML-code;
- - FTP client.
Instruction
1. Use one of special resources for creation of a mini-chat, for example, of "Chatovod" or "Chatium". Think up and specify the name of future chat and the address of its page in special fields. The address should contain not less than four and no more than twenty characters. After filling of all offered fields click "Create a Chat".
2. Pass to your mailbox which address you specified during creation of a mini-chat and undergo activation process. In the control panel of a chat select and copy the HTML-code intended for an insert on the website. You can select one of four different versions of the code.
3. Open the HTML page selected by you for a mini-chat, using the Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 program, and insert into it the copied code. By means of the FTP client load the changed page on the server of your website.
4. Install necessary settings of a chat in the control panel. That it could be displayed in a directory tree, install a tick in the corresponding text box. The administration of the website for creation of a mini-chat will consider your project and after a while will approve.
5. Select suitable design of a chat. You can use as ready design, and to install necessary settings manually, for example, to change the font size, background color and the background image. After saving settings of a chat you will not be able to change its code any more.
6. Assign the moderator and the administrator of a chat. Any users registered on the website can become them. The right of blocking and an unblocking of users enters the rights of moderators, and administrators have an opportunity to add and edit declarations. In case of departure of the corresponding applications by you they should give to users the consent to getting a position of the administrator and the moderator.
