Guest books already almost consigned to the past. In the middle end of the ninetieth years of the twentieth century they could be met on every fourth website. Today the similar section of an Internet resource is perceived rather as a rudiment. However guest books are still used. It is explained by the fact that for many websites the functionality of platforms of more modern types (such as forums and blogs) is simply redundant. Fortunately, now will not make any problems to pick up and install the guest book to the taste.

Instruction
1. Decide on technologies which can be used in the scripts implementing functionality of the guest book. Answer a question of in what programming languages the script can be implemented whether use of the database for storage of record of the guest book, etc. is possible. The list of technologies directly follows from their support within flowing a hosting plan.
2. Find, load and unpack the distribution kit of the guest book fitting into a framework of the technologies available for use on a hosting. For search of a distribution kit use large archives of scripts, such as hotscripts.com. After loading of a distribution kit, unpack it in the temporary folder on the hard drive by means of the program unpacker, or the file manager. Look through the license for use and installation instructions which contain in the distribution kit, or on the website of the developer.
3. Prepare a hosting account for installation of a script. As a rule, necessary actions are described in instructions for installation. If it is necessary, create the database, structure of directories into which files of a script of the guest book will be loaded on the server.
4. Make configuring a distribution kit of the guest book on the local machine. Act according to installation instructions. Often configuration comes down to editing the file of settings in which credentials of the administrator, data for access to the database, etc. should be placed.
5. Load a script of the guest book on the server. Use the program the FTP client, or the file manager with this functionality.
6. Carry out actions for configuring a distribution kit on the server if it is necessary. Install the rights for access to files and folders, edit the .htaccess file, etc.
7. Make installation of the guest book. If the distribution kit has an install script, start it. Follow instructions of this script. If during installation it is necessary to enter the admin password, remember or write it.
8. Execute steps on cleaning after installation. Rather often after installation of scripts on the server, from security reasons, it is required to delete an install script, or even the whole directories with their contents and also to change the rights for access to some files and folders. As a rule, these actions are described in the installation guide, or displayed on the last step of work of an install script.
9. Check work of the installed guest book. Come into the control panel with the account of the administrator. Leave one or several test messages.
