To distribute the Internet on a local area network, it is necessary to select the computer which will execute a server role. The server-based network differs from peer-to-peer in the fact that management of jobs or group is carried out by the special purpose computer that allows to provide high functionality.

- - Internet access.
Instruction
1. Select the computer which will play a server role. As the server processes big information streams, it needs high power. Also it should be equipped with two network adapters or the network interface card with two connectors.
2. Buy the network hub, the router or ADSL model with sufficient number of connectors for connection of other computers to the selected server. In addition you need the special network cable consisting of four unshielded twisted pairs, the device for compression and the necessary number of connectors which corresponds to the number of computers increased by 2.
3. Connect the server to the Internet. For this purpose insert a cable of provider about the network connector and perform the corresponding tuning. Connect the network hub (switch) to the second network adapter of the compuetra-server. Also connect other computers and laptops of a local area network to a switch. If the modem possesses the antenna, then it is possible to configure also wireless network, however it has low connection speed and depends on arrangement of the computer.
4. Turn on the server and open settings of the Internet. Pass to the Access tab and allow access of other devices of a local area network to your Internet. Come into settings of network connection of the second adapter and pass to properties of the internet protocol TCP/IPv4.posatvte a tick near the static IP address and specify value 191.168.0.1.
5. Start other computers of a local area network. Perform on everyone the following tunings. Open "Network and Sharing Center", pass into the section "Change of Parameters of Adapters", select a label of network connection, click on it the right mouse button and select the Properties item.
6. Open properties of the internet protocol and enter necessary data in it. In the first field the IP address is assigned to this computer, for example, 192.168.0.2. All further computers will have numbering 3,4,5 and so on. After that there will be a subnet mask. Further enter the IP address of the server and save settings.
