Instruction
1. Define those tasks which will have to be executed by means of a local area network. For an office work from 10-20 by computers which should be connected among themselves will be to install 100-megabit network enough. If necessary to data transmission of large volume of information install a gigabit local area network.
2. In addition to computers the printer can be connected to network. For this purpose install a print server which will open access to the printer for all participants of network. In this case the printer will not depend on any specific computer and its speed.
3. If all jobs with computers and the peripheral equipment are in one room, then distribute them evenly. It will allow to connect all equipment to one switch.
4. If computers are in several offices, then think over how competently to place cables and the network equipment. On each room about one switch will be required to get and one more which will be integrating. It will exclude need to pull a cable to one node.
5. In each workplace install on one information area on each 6-10 square meters. The switch and a patch panel should be located in a wiring closet. This cabinet provides protection of the equipment against dust, potential mechanical damages, electromagnetic fields.
6. From a wiring closet part cables to sockets. Similar placement of a local area network provides easy access for service of different elements. Also it gives the chance of fast dismantling of the equipment at possible transfer of a local area network to other room if there is such need.
7. Install for all equipment which is in network uninterrupted power supply. This security measure is necessary as at difference of tension all network can fail.
