Some increase in Internet traffic can be reached due to change of settings of the computer and the modem, but to you it is not necessary to hope that the speed declared the supplier of the Internet will be exceeded.
Instruction
1. By default the Windows operating system backs up about twenty percent of throughput of the channel for system needs. It can serve as one of the reasons of decrease in traffic of Internet connection. To turn off this function, open the main system menu, having clicked "Start-up", and pass into a dialog "Execute".
2. Enter gpedit.msc value to the line "Open" and confirm start of the Editor of Group Policies tool, having pressed the OK button. Open the link "Computer Configuration" and pass into the section "Administrative Templates". Expand a node "Network" and select the Manager of Packages of QoS item. Use the link "Properties" and go to the Parameter tab of the opened dialog box. Apply a checkbox in the field "Is included" and enter desirable value into the corresponding line. Apply the made changes, having pressed the OK button.
3. Pay attention to the number of so-called half-open connections. This function was entered by Microsoft corporation for reduction of speed of distribution of malicious software from the infected PC and decrease in probability of participation of the computer in the DoS-attacks. By default the local computer cannot support more than ten outbound connections, and exceeding this threshold of connection are executed in order of priority. Use the customized application of Half-open Limit which is freely distributed in the Internet to lift this limit of traffic. Pay attention that this restriction does not concern the entering connections, and belongs only to outbound connections.
4. Use a possibility of shutdown of function of check of available updates both different installed applications, and the most Windows operating system. Background search of updates is capable to lower considerably traffic in network. Settings of the majority of programs allow to turn off this function.
