To lift the DNS server, it is previously necessary to execute a number of preparatory activities. They consist assembled a basic information, receiving approval of Internic or the choice of independently used IP address. After that it is possible to start direct installation and setup of the DNS server.
Instruction
1. Receive a constant name of the domain for the server which will use data on the Internet. If the server rises for internal use, then select independently the IP address and a name of a node. Check correctness of setup of the operating system on your computer which will be used as the DNS server.
2. Distribute available disk space and format it according to the NTFS file system if other is used. On it the preparatory stage is finished. It is possible to start a server raising.
3. Open the main menu "Start-up" and select the section "Control panel". Start the Installation and Removal of Programs component. Press the Adding and Removal of the Windows Components button. As a result the master of components whom it is necessary to check near the line "Network services" will open and to press the Structure button. Note the line "System of Naming of Domains (DNS)", click "Ok".
4. Come into the Start menu and select the section "Administration". Start "A server setup wizard". Open the Server role tab and note the DNS server point. Press Next to pass to The Report of the Selected Parameters page. Validate the specified data. After that installation of DNS service will begin. Proceed to hints of the installation wizard to configure the server.
5. Configure the static IP address for your DNS server. For this purpose open the Connection on a Local Area Network dialog box and go to the Properties tab. Click the line "Internet Protocol of TCP/IP" and open its properties. Check near the record "Use the Following IP Address" and enter all necessary data. In the line "The Preferred DNS Server" note the IP address of your server, and leave the line "Alternative DNS Server" blank. Click "Ok" and close a window.
