To limit connection speed with the Internet of one or several machines in the computer network, it is necessary to make a certain setup. In this case either settings of the router, or the special software are used.

Instruction
1. As setup of the router for the user very difficult occupation which can lead to undesirable consequences use programs for traffic management in the local area networks. Among the current offers of the software it is possible to select couple of products: BWMeter and Tmeter. Functions of these programs are similar, but the second option has advantage — the application is completely free.
2. For speed limit of connection use filtering to the IP address which for each machine is individual. For search of all IP for the purpose of assignment of certain filters start the Tmeter program. In a main window consistently open the following elements: "Configuration" and "Filter set".
3. Then click "Change" for performing full editing the file of settings. Create the new file of settings: for this purpose click "Add", pass to "Settings" and give a mark opposite to the line "Master filter". Then give a mark in the Include Speed Limit point and put the necessary value, for example, of 1 Mbit.
4. In addition to value of access rate to the Internet in this window there is some other options which also allow to impose restriction for the consumed traffic. It is worth specifying an option of "A certain size of the consumed traffic" as an example, i.e. at achievement of any sum there is an automatic blocking of access.
5. At all usefulness of this program you should not forget also about its minuses. For example, network administration means constant control and tracking the events on computers of all network. But if the computer of the administrator is faulty or deenergized, then control of network will be completely broken. Therefore many professionals advise to configure the router and only then to use special software.
