One of the main cares of any owner of the information website is search of sources of thematic content for its filling. Articles and news can be ordered at the specialized exchanges or from loner freelancers, but it costs expensive. Therefore the web master can sometimes make the decision to make the directory of articles on the website, thereby having provided inflow of content and partial monetization of a resource.

Instruction
1. Decide on means on the basis of which the directory of articles will be created. As a rule, for the organization of the directory it is possible to use CMS on the basis of which the main website functions. It is rather simple to select the section for guest articles, having created necessary structure of subsections according to the list of headings, and, perhaps, to assign to pages of the directory a separate template.
2. If website CMS for some reason cannot be used for creation of the directory, pick up and install the engine suitable on functionality. In this case it makes sense to select the easy to use, flexible and easily set up solution. For example, the directory of articles can be constructed on the basis of the platform for blogs of WordPress (it will only be necessary to create the template of the page of a heading displaying subcategories not in the form of the list, and in the form of the table). Well CMS of general purpose Drupal also will be suitable for the organization of the directory. The Views module will allow to configure Drupal on display of the directory in only several minutes.
3. Install the selected CMS if it is necessary. If the decision on use of separate CMS for the organization of the directory of articles was made, make its installation on the server.
4. Load the CMS distribution kit from the website of the developer on the hard drive of the computer. Look through documentation which is contained in a distribution kit. Look through online documentation on the selected CMS if that is available.
5. Unpack files of the CMS distribution kit on the hard drive. Correct configuration files. Load the CMS files on the server, using the program the FTP client. Prepare CMS for installation, having created the database and having changed access rights to directories and separate files as it is described in documentation. Start a script of installation of CMS and follow its instructions.
6. Configure CMS for display of contents in the directory mode. Add necessary number of virtual partitions and subsections of the website, having created initial structure of the rubricator. Add short and long descriptions to each of the created sections.
7. Install the theme or templates allowing to display information in a view, usual for directories. On pages of the rubricator except standard elements of design and navigation (a website cap, top and side menus, the line breadcrumbs, footer) the blocks displaying the list of categories of the current section in a tabular style and the list of articles which are contained in the section should contain. These blocks should occupy the main space of the page. The design of pages with articles can be traditional.
8. Implement the mechanism of reception of articles for placement in the directory. Create the page with a form for application for adding of article in the directory. For these purposes it is possible to use special plug-ins or the CMS modules or a third-party script. It is possible to use a feedback form also. It is convenient to configure the processor of this form so that it sent the letter notification on intake of new materials.
9. Make the directory of articles on the website. Place information that in the directory articles are accepted on the homepage. Install links to pages with a form of application for placement and rules of the directory. Publish articles, sent by users.
