How to make the internal website

To analyze as employees will treat that for work and business communication the company plans to create the internal website, it is not obligatory to contact webmasters at once. It is possible to test its demand and independently, with a minimum of material and time expenditure.

Instruction

1. Collect all documents necessary for the current work of the company in one folder. Save them in the .html format. During saving assign to files the names which are not containing spaces, Cyrillics and special characters for the purpose of further compatibility.

2. Create the index file – the interactive content of your base of documents. For this purpose you will need the normal text file in which it is enough to list all names of documents and the link to them. Save it in the .html format in the same folder with the name index.htm. Copy the created folder in network ("The general documents") or open to it access from the computer. For this purpose select the General Access item from a context menu of the folder. Send information on creation of the simplest internal website to all employees. Specify the address in a format: "сетевое_имя_компьютера/имя_общей_папки/index.htm".

3. Pass to the http protocol with a standard name of the website (http://имя_домена/имя_документа.htm). Configure the virtual domain (having called it, for example, intranet) and transfer to it all archive of documents. Check that all users have companies or on the server the routing to the website was configured. The format of accessing the file with the necessary contents will be - http://intranet/.

4. Improve the website, having increased its functionality and level of interactivity. For this purpose you should solve in what direction to develop it further. But anyway it will be required to you: - transfer text documents from files to the database; - develop the system of search by the database; - develop a recording system and authorizations of the employees having access to the website; - install photo video of gallery; - provide means of communication with employees (forum, vote, feedback).

5. Transfer the website to one of the existing CMS (independently or having used services of the webmaster). If you have time, develop own system which will meet completely your requirements to the internal website or get for this software of one of known the intranet platforms.
