Connection to the Counter Strike server is carried out by means of a linking of IP: port. In certain cases the port, necessary for connection of the program to the server, can be blocked by a system firewall. To make its unblocking, it is necessary to pass into appropriate section of the menu of settings of a system.
Instruction
1. For shutdown of check of port for the Counter Strike server you will need to open a firewall and to make settings according to the used port number.
2. Pass into the Start menu - "Control panel". If you use Windows 8, click an icon of the Metro menu and enter request "Control panel", and then select the received result. Among the offered options select "A system and safety" - "Windows Firewall".
3. You can temporarily disable Windows firewall to open access to the server to other players. For this purpose click on the link "Inclusion and Shutdown of a Firewall" in the left part of the appeared window. On the following screen select the options "Disable Windows Firewall" for both blocks of connection to a public or local area network. Click "Ok" for application of changes and start your Counter Strike server.
4. If you do not want to disable a firewall, use the option "Permission of Interaction with the Application or a Component" which is also located in the left part of a window of a firewall of Windows.
5. In the appeared window press the Resolve Other Application button and select HLDS or Counter Strike. After that click "Ok" to save the made changes.
6. You can also specify manually port which should be opened to a firewall for the entering and outgoing connections. For this purpose click "Additional parameters" and wait for emergence of the Firewall in the Mode of the Increased Safety window. In the list of available options click "Rules for the entering connections" and click "Create the rule" in the right part of the appeared window.
7. Select the For Port item and click "Further". Specify the port used for creation of the server and save the made changes. You can set the similar parameter for outgoing connections in the Rules for Outbound Connection menu. As soon as all settings are made, close a window of a firewall and start your Counter Strike server. Opening of Counter Strike port is complete.
