Instruction
1. For installation of the guest book your hosting should support PHP, and for some scripts the MySQL support can be required. If your hoster does not provide such services, then it is possible to use one of services of free guest books on the Internet. You will need just to place the reference issued by service on your resource and to configure all settings via the control panel.
2. Find and download a script online. Load files only from the checked resources or forums devoted to web programming. Unpack the downloaded archive. Read the readme or install file to deal with the principles of work of the guest book and requirements for installation.
3. If the application stores all records in MySQL, then it is necessary to create previously the database by means of the hosting panel. If you do not know how to make it, then contact support desk of hosting provider and ask to explain process of creation of the database.
4. Configure configuration files of a script according to parameters of your server: enter a database name, the server address, the login and the password for access to MySQL. Files of settings usually have config.php, cfg.php names. The manual on should be provided in readme.
5. After introduction of all changes it is possible to load a script on the server. Load all files into the separate folder through FTP by means of the control panel of a hosting or the FTP manager (for example, through Cute FTP or Total Commander).
6. Check operability of a script on your resource. For this purpose enter the address to which you loaded the guest book, in an address bar of the browser. Try to add the new comment, come into the administrator's panel, try to edit or delete a post. If everything works, then do not forget to make a reference to guest from the homepage of your website. If for some reason the program does not work, then contact her developer through the contacts specified in the readme file or contact support of a hosting.
