The ping function is used for check of availability of Internet resources by means of sending for the used host of a package of a certain size. At the same time time of return of data is measured to determine connection speed. This function is turned off by fans of network games to reduce time of delays.
Instruction
1. Open the Start menu of the Windows operating system which button is in the left corner of a task bar. Also on some keyboards there is Windows window image button, having clicked which, it is possible to start the main menu. Pass into the section "Control panel" and come into the Windows Firewall menu. Click the Expanded tab in the opened dialog box.
2. Find the ICMP Settings button and click it then remove a tick near the inscription "Allow incoming echo request". After that in the bottom of a window press the Ok button to save the specified settings. After that for the ban of the entering and outgoing ping-packages it is necessary to use the IPSec built-in application.
3. Press the Start-up button and enter mmc value into the search string (for Windows 7) or at line "Execute" (for Windows XP). Click "Open" or the ENTER key. Confirm command execution and open the File menu in a window of applications. Select the Add/Remove Snap-in function and add the IP Security and Policy Management utility. In the field deliver to ""Local computer"" a checkbox and click Close to complete the work of the master.
4. Click the right mouse button the line ""IP Security Policies"" to open a context menu. Select the Manage IP filter Lists and Filter Actions command and note the All ICMP Traffic point. After that pass into the section ""Manage Filter Actions"". Click Next and put a checkbox near the inscription ""Block"". Confirm setup and close a dialog box.
5. Choose the Create IP Security Policy command in the IP Security Policies context menu. The master of creation of policies in whom specify in the respective field ""Block Ping"" will open. Deselect checkboxes near the inscription "Activate the default responce rule" and put near "Edit Properties". Save settings and close the master's window.
