Some programs periodically request online the updates, thereby, using excess traffic. This inconvenience can be eliminated, having used functions of some antivirus software.

Instruction

1. Kaspersky CrystalEto the powerful antivirus which long ago proved in the software market. The embedded function of access lock allows to prohibit programs to go on-line for downloading of updates. Open the program, call the Safety Control panel, in the upper right corner click "Setup". In the left part of a window in the section "Protection" select the subsection "Network Screen", select the Turn on the Network Screen checkbox in the right part of a window, click ""Setup"...". In the opened window come on the Rules of Filtering tab, select the program which needs to close access from the list, and click "Add". In the Network Rule window in the section "Actions" select "Block", in the section "Network Service" select "Web Browsing", click okB the remained open windows press OK.

2. Kaspersky Internet SecurityZapustite the program, in the upper right corner click "Setup". In the left part of a window in the section "Protection" click "The network screen", click "Nastrok...". Further perform the operations described for the previous program starting with "Rules of filtering".

3. Outpost SecuritySuite Pro 7zapustite the program, enter "Settings" in the top part of a window. In the Firewall group select "Rules for applications", find in the list the program (if it is not there, click "Add" and enter it in the list), click "Edit". In The Editor Governed window on the General tab select "Block all actions", click OK and once again OK in the first window.

4. ESET Smart SecurityZapustite the program, in the left part of a window select "Setup", in the central part of a window note "Incl. an enhanced mode", click "Yes". In the left part of a window select "A personal firewall", "Advanced settings of a personal firewall". In the opened window click "A personal firewall" and "The automatic mode with exceptions (the rules determined by users)" from the Filtering Mode list. In the left part select "Rules and zones", on the right in the Editor of Zones and Rules list click "Settings...", click "Create". On the General tab enter the name of the new rule in the Name field, and in the Action list select "Prohibit". On the Local tab click "Overview" and select path and a name of the program, click "Open", OK, OK.
