Authorization in ICQ is necessary to distinguish necessary useful contacts from accidentally added. It allows to see the personal status of the virtual interlocutor ("in network" / "not in network"), to learn, than he is engaged at present and whether it is ready to respond to your messages.

Instruction
1. It is allowed to the users authorized in the program to see the status of the virtual contacts. In addition to main ("in network" and "not in network"), the intermediate statuses from the standard list set by the program are available to the accounts which underwent the procedure of authorization. For example, the status "departed" reports that the user any time is not at the computer. Unauthorized users cannot see these metamorphoses since for them you always are offline.
2. Not authorized interlocutor can request from you authorization. In this case the message box with request will open, and you or allow this contact to be added, or, on the contrary, ignore the received message and thus, delicately refuse the offer. You can also independently authorize other users from the contact list. For this purpose it is necessary from a context menu of the program to select the item "allow to add you".
3. In order that most to request authorization from other user of ICQ, it is necessary to select the "authorization request" item from a context menu of a dialog. At the same time you need to fill previously a standard form in which the reason for request is stated (by default there is an inscription "allow to add you to my contact list"). The user from whom you requested authorization, having read your message, will make the decision: or to give the consent, or not to give. If the one to whom you sent the message leaves this offer without answer, then you will not see its real status as for you this interlocutor will always be "not in network".
4. Authorization is the one-time procedure which is required when adding in the contact list of the new interlocutor. It is not necessary to allow authorization to all users as not the living person, but spam bot can add you. To learn from whom the initiative to begin a dialog proceeds, it is necessary to view at first information on the unfamiliar user and only after data validation to make the relevant decision on it. To receive the necessary information about the interlocutor interesting you, in a context menu it is necessary to select the line "information on contact".
