Quite often there is a need to save the page from any given website in order that then to browse it on the device which is not connected to the Internet. In addition, such operation can be required and if there is a probability of disappearance of the page from the website in the future.

Instruction

1. To read the page on the device supporting a format "only the text" pass to this page with any browser, and then select in the menu "Page" or "File" the Save as command. Select in the dropdown menu the Text file item or similar. The Firefox browser will offer as the name of the file that name under which it is stored on the server, Opera or IE - page heading. If the device supports only Latin names of files, enter the new name. Save the file, and then recode it in coding which is maintained by the device. In Linux for this purpose it is possible to use the KWrite program.

2. To save the page in the file of the HTML format, carry out the same actions, however, in the dropdown menu select the HTML-file item or similar.

3. Sometimes it is necessary to save the page together with the images located on it. Of course, it can be done and manually, saving each image separately. But such operation will take a lot of time, besides, links to pictures in it, perhaps, it is necessary to govern that they pointed to local files. Select the HTML-file with images item in the dropdown list, and this operation will be carried out automatically. For images the separate folder will be created, and the browser as appropriate will transform all links in the file. Transfer of the file from one machine on another needs to be carried out together with this folder and all its contents (if desired, in the form of archive). It is desirable to browse result of saving (but it is not obligatory) in the same browser in which it was created.

4. That to save page contents together with images in the only file, use an option under the name "Web Archive (Only File" or similar. The received file will have the MHT extension. It is also desirable to browse it in the same browser in which it was created.

5. To save the HTML page or other object from the website via the command line, use the cross-platform wget utility.
